Non-Homogeneous Markov Reward Model for Aging Multi- state System under Minimal Repair

چکیده
The paper considers reliability analysis for aging multi-state system where the system and its components can have different performance levels ranging from perfect functioning to complete failure. Aging is treated as failure rate increasing during system lifetime. Reliability measures for multi-state system such as mean accumulated performance deficiency, mean number of failures, average availability, etc., are interpreted as system performability measures. The suggested approach presents the nonhomogeneous Markov reward model for computation of these reliability measures for aging multi-state system under minimal repair. A numerical example is presented in order to illustrate the approach.

A Multiprocessor System with Non-Preemptive Earliest-Deadline-First Scheduling Policy: A Performability Study
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performability of a firm realtime system modeled by a multi-server queue. The service discipline in the queue is earliestdeadline- first (EDF), which is an optimal scheduling algorithm. Real-time jobs with exponentially distributed relative deadlines arrive according to a Poisson process. All jobs have deadlines until the end of s...
متن کاملAvailability and Reliability Measures for Multistate System by Using Markov Reward Model
This paper describes some models and measures of reliability for multistate systems. The expected cumulative reward for the continuous time Markov reward models are used for deriving the structure function for a multistate system where the system and its components can have different performance levels ranging from perfect functioning to complete failure. The suggested approach presents with re...
متن کاملA multi-stage stochastic programming for condition-based maintenance with proportional hazards model
Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) optimization using Proportional Hazards Model (PHM) is a kind of maintenance optimization problem in which inspections of a system relevant to its failure rate depending on the age and value of covariates are performed in time intervals. The general approach for constructing a CBM based on PHM for a system is to minimize a long run average cost per unit of time...
متن کاملVacation model for Markov machine repair problem with two heterogeneous unreliable servers and threshold recovery
Markov model of multi-component machining system comprising two unreliable heterogeneous servers and mixed type of standby support has been studied. The repair job of broken down machines is done on the basis of bi-level threshold policy for the activation of the servers. The server returns back to render repair job when the pre-specified workload of failed machines is build up. The first (seco...
متن کاملPower-Hierarchy of Dependability -Model Types
Conclusions This paper formally establishes a hierarchy, among the most commonly used types of dependability models, according to their modeling power. Among the combinatorial (non-state-space) model types, we show that fault trees with repeated events are the most powerful in terms of kinds of dependencies among various system components that can be modeled (which is one metric of modeling pow...
